Tapping on Ingenuity
Commissioned by leading brassware designer Triflow, Zaha Hadd has designed Tap of the Future, a kitchen and bathroom tap that merges spout, body and handle in a continuous trajectory of curvilinear geometries. Hadid explains that this fluid design also “blends seamlessly with the ergonomic needs of a tap”.
Craft of Passion
Ceccotti Collezioni offers a beautifully crafted collection of uniquely styled furniture that, for their non-industrial character, are all believable created with “mind, heart and hands”. Meeting at Length
Jorn by Rodolfo Dordoni is a wonderfully long table from Minotti’s One World collection. It is simply shaped and bears the most elegant of proportions. Jorn is fitted with a black lacquered frame with legs of chome-plated tubular metal that hold up a sandwich wood top veneered in matte walnut.
Coddling, Anyone?
This was the famous egg coddler that made history as the prototype of modern glass design. Designed in 1933 by Bauhaus trained Wilhelm Wagenfeld, this classic kitchen piece is making a comeback in two different sizes and can be used to make inter-alia, soufflés, sweets and amuse-guele.
Tap for Light
Franke’s Planar Light is a single-lever mixer tap that incorporates its own basic lighting system. Fine LED lights line the underside of a spout arm suspended over the sink, and at the touch of a button, works like a lamp to create a fascinating lighting effect around the sink.
